May 16th First hike of the year!

So yesterday DL and I went for our first hike of the year! I thought I was going to die!

Park Features
Three freshwater lakes - Durrance, Fork and Pease - for swimming, canoeing and fishing (Durrance Lake is stocked with catch able Rainbow Trout)
11 km of trails through forest to the summit (449m) of Mount Work
Mount Work - Hartland, a separate area of multi-use trails open to mountain biking
Trail Rating: Moderate to Challenging





here we are at the bottom of the hill, the first 1.4kms done... all done hill! Oh dear we must go up!




This one is half way up the first .6 km.  The first .6 kms has a 147m incline! HOLLY CRAP!!! i thought i was dying!

Water fall at the top of the .6 km.... now the last 1km!

  2. What a pretty hike! I can't wait until I can go on some, but its still been too rainy here for me to brave the muddy trails.

  3. I live in victoria bc, and it has not stopped raining since November, I think it was our first sunny day and the high was only 13C!!!
